Is the bowling all-rounder the most undervalued pick in T20?

A player who bowls four tight overs and clears the ropes at the death lets you play an extra specialist. Are bowling all-rounders the real currency of T20 squad-building, or a luxury that costs you when they're only two-thirds of a player in both disciplines?

Balance is everything in T20. A genuine bowling all-rounder buys you a seventh batter or a fifth bowler — that flexibility is worth more than one extra specialist who only does half the job.

Undervalued? They're the first name on every team sheet — that's the definition of valued. The truly undervalued pick is the wrist-spinner who takes wickets through the middle.

Matchups win T20s. An all-rounder who can bowl the tough overs AND float up the order to attack a specific bowler is a captain's dream. You can't teach flexibility.
